NBA 2K18 Prelude: Every NBA 2K18 fan has high hopes surrounding the upcoming game, and the list of awesome new features we are expecting add to the anticipation. However, 2K has stiff competition this year from EA Sports’ NBA LIVE 18, which was showcased at the EA Play event ahead of the E3 2017. And those who went hands-on are finding it increasingly hard to ignore the new entry in the less-than-celebrated series. But 2K’s game will undoubtedly have a couple of tricks up its sleeve, and the one that fans are all looking forward to specifically is the NBA 2K18 Prelude.
What is The Prelude in NBA 2K18?
To address this question, it may be rather simplistic to term the NBA 2K18 Prelude as a demo for the main game to follow. Last year, the mode was released about a week preceding the release of NBA 2K17, not only to promote the game, but also to give fans a chance to get a heads up on the MyCareer Mode over other players who skip it.
Coming to the possibilities of getting the early-access in NBA 2K18, there is no telling about it yet as 2K has not said a word. But we wonder if the creators will find it justifiable to give it a skip, especially when the NBA LIVE 18 free demo is already slated to come out in August. If the EA Play preview has received so much of positive feedback, imagine how much of a chance the demo has of hitting it big with gamers. So we believe the NBA 2K18 Prelude will be rolled out a week before the game’s September 19 release date.
We already know that fans expect the MyCareer Mode in NBA 2K18 to be nothing short of amazing, so it makes sense to think that 2K will bring back The Prelude to get fans hooked earlier than expected.
What to Expect in the NBA 2K18 Prelude
As we have already stated, The Prelude in NBA 2K18, if 2K chooses to go along with it, will be a great way to kickstart one’s experience in the new game. But to go into what we can expect from the probable mode, there are a couple of possibilities. These are:
- Players will get a chance to once again dabble in college games to make up the building blocks of their career over the rest of the game.
- There may be a host of new schools to be included in the NBA 2K18 Prelude besides the ones that were featured last year.
- Players may be able to develop their characters’ skills early on, and they could also carry their progress into the main game after it sees its full release.
- There will be cutscenes to make it feel like a real experience built around the life of a star player on campus.
There will obviously be more on that front, but we need to wait before 2K actually announces The Prelude for this year’s entry.
So finally, the lack of official word from 2K is leading us to wonder if there will be an NBA 2K18 Prelude at all. But we can’t help but feel that it is a necessary step for this year, especially now that rival EA is definitely stepping up their game. Now all we need to do is wait for that coveted announcement before the official NBA 2K18 release date.
